The youth forum began its journey as a result of the consultation that took place in October 2016. Young people identified their needs and aspirations and were given the opportunity to take ownership of realising that challenge.

The youth forum consisted of 10 young people who were keen to ensure that their needs were going to be met. Meetings were held to move the process forward and young people visited youth centres in the area to set up their youth club.

Deaf World felt the need to support and skill up the members of the youth forum and worked in partnership with them to plan and deliver the Leadership Training programme.

The youth forum has now moved onto the next phase and is now the Steering Group.
